This was one of the first places that I took Severus to after he arrived home as I was well aware how dog friendly it was. At the time Severus was not fully vaccinated so he was not able to experience all of the factors involved in a cafe visit but I’ll write based on my observations at the time.
This cafe is an independently owned coffee shop located in White Hart Yard in Trowbridge where it has been since 1999. A few extensions and a stylish refit makes the coffee shop what is today and is loved by the people of Trowbridge.
The food menu is extensive and includes a selection of cakes, pastries and freshly prepared sandwiches whilst the drinks menu includes the usual coffees and teas plus milkshakes and alcoholic beverages. On this visit, I opted for a cappucino and a toasted teacake which you order at the till before taking your seat. The staff then bring your order to your table which helps to keep the till area free from congestion during busy periods. From a dog friendly point of view, dogs are not limited to one particular area of the restaurant. although I always prefer to find a table that is away from the food preparation areas and in an area where my dog will not get in the way of anyone who wishes to pass. There were dog biscuits available in a jar in the condiments area but I couldn’t see any water bowls available inside. I imagine that if you were to have asked the staff, they might be able to provide one but as I usually bring a collapsible water bowl for Severus, I wasn’t too worried.
One of the other features available in this store that I liked was a little area selling doggy toys and treats and the prices were fair if you wanted to treat your pup to something whilst you enjoyed a coffee. The treats available included a selection from JR Pets which are a more natural option than the usual biscuit-based treat. I have to confess that Severus didn’t come away empty handed and I bought him a new toy that was being advertised at 50% off.
