Severus first visited The Water Meadow, a Marston’s brewery owned pub when he was a little over four months old and has been back since and on both occasions, we have had wonderful experiences.

On our first visit back in March, Severus was being carried into the restaurant in his car crate and as we approached the host we were warmly greeted and a bit of light humour was exchanged about how we wouldn’t be seated until they found out ‘what was in the box’. They brought him a bowl of water as soon as we sat down without us even needing to ask which was a nice touch!

Unfortunately a few of the cask ales had run out on the first visit which reduced our choices but my Mum and I found an IPA that we might like whilst my Dad went for a bitter. The IPA was on the pricier end of what this pub would normally offer but was cheaper than the offerings in some other pubs. It was a nice beer though and is one I’d happily drink again.

The food offerings are varied and our party were all able to find a meal that suited their tastes easily and it was brought to our table by friendly staff without too long of a wait. Budget-wise, this pub seems to offer affordable meals without compromising on quality or quantity.
